Golf PEI records fourth consecutive banner year

Charlottetown, PE (December 17, 2025) – For the fourth consecutive year, Golf PEI is celebrating another record-breaking year across almost every metric, fueled by enhanced customer service, strategic changes, ideal weather, and a renewed sense of Canadian pride.

“What started as uncertain and unpredictable quickly turned into another banner year for golf operators across PEI,” said Sam MacPhail, CEO of Golf PEI. “Golf tourists came in droves for golf, but stayed for everything else the Island has to offer.”

Highlights from the 2025 golf season:

• 505,810 total rounds played, a new record, up 13.1% from 2024 (up 27.3% from 2023)

• 243,302 paid rounds, up 15.5% (27.6% from 2023)

• $2.63M in Golf PEI Reservation Centre sales, a 25% increase (up 49% from 2023)

• 9,602 rounds booked by 3,228 individual golfers via Golf PEI’s reservation centre, up 11% (up 24% from 2023)

• 29,952 rounds booked via Golf PEI’s web engine, contributing over $2.59M directly to course revenue, up 26%

• 3 courses cracked the Top 59 Public Golf Courses in Canada

• Opened Fairway Finds by Golf PEI, the Island’s golf retail hub, bringing 18 pro shops together under one roof

Golf PEI completed year two of its five-year strategic plan, The Way Forward, which focused on governance updates, new messaging, and product offerings to attract more high-yield, non-resident visitors.

Golf PEI attributes its success in 2025 to the dedication of its staff, members, stakeholders, and partnerships across the tourism industry that enhanced the guest experience and boosted golf’s economic impact on Prince Edward Island.
