Charlottetown, PE (December 5, 2024) – Golf Prince Edward Island celebrated a record-breaking 2024 golf season, fueled by excellent weather, a strong team, and a new strategic vision.
“Great weather, a great product, and a strong team focused on exceptional customer service all contributed to making 2024 another banner year,” said Sam MacPhail, CEO of Golf PEI. “Amid growing global competition, Prince Edward Island is continually reinforcing its status as a top golf destination with more to offer than just golf.”
Highlights from the 2024 golf season:
-
446,000 total rounds played, a new record, up 12.3% from 2023
-
210,684 paid rounds, up 12.1%
-
$2.11M in Golf PEI Reservation Centre sales, a 24% increase
-

Golf PEI also successfully completed the first year of its five-year strategic plan, The Way Forward, which focused on strengthening its foundation and understanding customer needs. Year two will build on these insights with new messaging and products to attract more non-resident visitors.
The outstanding season was made possible by the dedication of Golf PEI’s reservation centre and office staff and partnerships across the tourism industry that enhanced the guest experience and boosted golf’s economic impact on Prince Edward Island.
