Q: What is Golf PEI?

A: Golf PEI is the non-profit association behind Canada’s Golf Island, representing Prince Edward Island’s golf courses and tourism partners. We run our own reservation centre so you can book tee times or full vacations directly with us, at no added cost, instead of researching and booking every piece yourself.

 

Q: What’s included in a Golf PEI vacation package?

A: A package can include your golf rounds, accommodations, restaurant reservations, transportation, and after-golf experiences with our Island partners. Every trip is custom-built around your dates, group size, and budget — there’s no fixed, one-size-fits-all bundle.

 

Q: How does the booking process work?

A: Submit a free quote request with your travel dates, number of golfers, course and accommodation preferences, and budget. A golf travel specialist follows up with tailored options, then confirms your tee times, lodging, and any extras once you approve. If you already know your course and tee time, you can book that directly online on your own instead.

 

Q: What does it cost to use Golf PEI’s booking service?

A: Nothing extra. Golf PEI is a non-profit and our specialists don’t work on commission, so you pay the same rates as booking direct, plus the benefit of free local planning and advice. There is a small admin fee to cover administrative costs.

 

Q: What does a golf vacation package typically cost?

A: Cost depends on your course selection, accommodation type, group size, and length of stay, so there’s no flat price. All pricing is per person, in Canadian dollars, and tax-inclusive unless noted. Request a free quote for an exact cost based on what you want to play and where you want to stay.

 

Q: What’s the payment and cancellation policy?

A: Bookings made 14+ days before travel require a 25% deposit, with final payment due within 14 days of arrival. Cancel 14+ days out and you’ll get a full refund minus a $20 admin fee; cancellations within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable (unless there are uncontrollable circumstances). Bookings made inside 14 days require full payment upfront.

 

Q: Who do I talk to when planning my trip?

A: Golf PEI’s golf vacation specialists have decades of combined experience playing our courses and staying at our partner accommodations across the Island. They answer questions, recommend courses and lodging suited to your group, and build your itinerary — without commission-driven bias.

 

Q: Which courses can I play?

A: Golf PEI represents member courses across four regions — Eastern, North Shore, Western, and Central — including Crowbush Cove, Brudenell River, Dundarave, Green Gables, Glasgow Hills, Mill River, Eagles Glenn, and Fox Meadow. With more courses per capita than anywhere else in Canada and everything within a short drive, you can play a different course every day of your trip. There’s a reason we are called Canada’s Golf Island!

 

Q: Can I customize which courses and accommodations I use?

A: Yes. Share your preferred dates, number of golfers, course preferences, budget range, and accommodation style — hotel, resort, or cottage — and we’ll build options around them. There’s no preset package you’re locked into.

 

Q: What do I receive once my trip is booked?

A: Once your tee times, accommodations, and any activities are confirmed, we email you a complete itinerary plus detailed travel documents for your records, typically sent at least a day before you depart.

 

Q: How do I get to Prince Edward Island?

A: The Island is reachable by air, land, and sea. Charlottetown Airport is served by Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, and Flair. By land, cross the 12-minute Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick or take the Northumberland Ferry from Nova Scotia. Several cruise lines also call at Charlottetown.

 

Q: When is golf season on the Island?

A: Season dates vary by course but generally run spring (start of May) through fall (end of October). Check individual course listings on our website for each course’s exact opening and closing dates.

 

Q: When’s the best time to book a golf vacation on PEI?

A: Book as early as possible for peak tee times, since our most popular courses fill up fast. June 1st through the end of September has become the prime time to take a golf vacation to PEI. Spring and fall offer a quieter, less crowded round if flexibility matters more to you than summer weather.

 

Q: What happens if it rains during my trip?

A: Rain alone doesn’t cancel your round — refunds only apply if the course officially closes for the day. Rain checks are handled directly by the course, and once play has started, no refunds are issued. That being said, we are flexible if you are unable to play in the rain.

 

Q: Can I bring non-golfing companions?

A: Absolutely. Prince Edward Island offers plenty beyond the course — beaches, local seafood, and Island entertainment — so companions can explore restaurants and experiences with our partners while you golf.

 

Q: Can I ship my golf clubs instead of flying with them?

A: Yes. Golf PEI partners with Ship Sticks for door-to-door shipping of clubs and luggage, so you can travel light and have your equipment waiting when you arrive on the Island.
